Lack of airflow, strange noises, unpleasant smells, water leaks or higher power bills can all point to a problem. These issues may result from blocked filters, thermostat faults, refrigerant leaks or worn components. If left unchecked, they can lead to bigger repairs or a full system failure—so it’s best to get them looked at early.

You can safely clean filters and wipe down external vents yourself, which helps with airflow and general hygiene. However, internal servicing and electrical checks must be carried out by a licensed technician. DIY servicing doesn’t replace professional maintenance and can void warranties or lead to undetected issues that affect performance and safety.
